After you have added an image you may want to adjust the image properties. You may have noticed that your image does not have text wrapping around it. You can adjust that with the Image Properties.
Adjusting Image Properties:
- Double click the image you want to modify. This will launch the Image Properties dialog box. Here you can change a number of items in the image:
- Image File – You can change the image to a different image on your computer or on your web site.
- Display Width and Height – This will set the width and height of the image. This will not actually resize your image but rather just change how the browser displays the image. If you are permantly changing the image size it is best to use image editing (see below).
- Horizontal and Vertical padding – This is the amount of blank space that surrounds your image.
- Alignment – This is likely the most used property. This will control the location of your image in relation to the text surrounding the image. Default will align the image with the baseline of text or object closest to the image. Left or will align the image to the left or and all surrounding images or other objects will wrap around your image. Middle will align the text baseline with the middle of the image. Top will align the text baseline with the top of the image. Default, middle and top do not text-wrap. The image to the right of the alignment pop-up menu will show an example of each choice.
- Border – This option should not be used. It should remain blank.
- Description (ALT text) – Allows you to change the description.
- Once you have made the property adjustments, click OK.
