I am a historian concentrating on nineteenth and twentieth century United States foreign relations/ U.S. in the world. 

 I write on a variety of topics in history, ethnomusicology, and folklore.

I teach courses on United States and Southern history and music and on selected topics in modern Asian history. And one on bees.
