'ARCS'

'ARCS' is a a tulip-type cultivar with a purplish spathe and spadix. The spadix is darker than the spathe. This cultivar is a complex hybrid of four species (A. andreanum cv. Uniwai, A. kamemotoanum, A. formosum, and A. amnicola). It is resistant to anthracnose and produces 7+ inflorescences per stem per year. 'ARCS' was the first anthurium with a purple spathe to be released by University of Hawaii. It was released in 1988 (Kamenoto and Kuehnle, 1996).
