Uses: Three main categories -- popcorn, dent corn, and sweet corn -- of maize are grown today and three categories -- pod, flint, and flour -- were grown in the past and are still grown to a less extent. Dent corn is mainly a food for livestock. Corn is a source of starch, oil, and sugar.
