Caladium lindenii is native to Columbia, and, in the wild, it is "mostly green" ( Brown, 1988). This plant is a cultivar of C. lindenii called 'Magnificum'. Even though this species was transfered to the genus Caladium by Michael Madison (1981), it is still widely known in the horticultural trade as Xanthosoma lindenii.
