Caladium marmoratum Mathieu
Mathieu. 1854. Ind. Sem. Hort. Bot. Berol. App. 6.Engler and Kraus (1920) give the distribution of Caladium marmoratum as Ecuador. It was placed in synonymy with C. bicolor by Michael Madison (1981). This species does not appear to be significantly different from C. bicolor and, probably, should be considered a variant of that species.

This plant was collected in the Kaiwiki Homestead area of Hilo, Hawaii. Sugar cane once was grown in the area. Plants like this were seen in several different locations around Hilo and appear to be naturalized in the area.
