Cycas micholitzii Dyer

This plant and the plants in the greenhouse were raised from seeds that were wild-collected in Vietnam. The species of the genus Cycas do not have megastrobili (seed cones) but produce a loose aggregate of megasporophylls (modified leaves bearing ovules). The stem of C. micholitzii is subterranean, so the seeds are formed on the surface of the soil. This plant is growing in Florida. The photograph was taken by Mr. Michael Perry with a Olympus D-600L digital camera.
