I
teach in both Religious Studies (church history, religion
and literature, seminars on C. S. Lewis and Methodism,
etc.) and Communications (Film comedy, American film
history, etc.) and in classes that connect the two
(Christian theology and film).
Like Mary Pickford in Sparrows
(1926), my vocation is teaching those whom God watches,
even as we all tend to fall.
I
am blessed to be among a jolly community of scholars,
teachers, staff, and students of Virginia Wesleyan
College, where John Wesley’s statue proclaims: “And
the best is… God is with us!”
